Introduction

Scheduling payroll payments with Mimo is simple and efficient. After uploading your payroll file and reviewing the details, you can quickly select your preferred payment date. Follow the steps below to see how it’s done!

Upload the Payroll File

To schedule a payroll payment, start by uploading the payroll file to the Mimo Platform. To do this, navigate to the Pay tab in your Mimo Account and click Upload Payroll in the upper right corner. You can either drag and drop your file or select it manually. Supported file formats include BACS, TXT, CSV, and XLSX. Alternatively, you can download our payroll template for easy formatting.

Review the Payroll Data

The second step is to review the payroll data. The first time you do this, Mimo will verify the payees to ensure that the payments are directed to the correct individuals and accounts. Since we’re using a pre-existing template in this example, all accounts have already been confirmed, indicated by a green “confirmation” mark. From here, simply proceed to the next step and press Confirm.

Schedule the Payment Date

The next step is to review the payment details and schedule the payment date. Select the desired date from the calendar under Schedule for. You can schedule payments well in advance, though in this case, we’re scheduling just a few days ahead. Once the date is confirmed, you can either choose an existing custom workflow or, if you are an admin, set up a new workflow for the payroll payment.

Select Payment Method

The final step is to choose your payment method. For payroll, Mimo offers two options: bank account or Mimo Balance. If you select Bank Account (open banking) as the payment method, the funds will be withdrawn from your account immediately, even if the payroll is scheduled for a future date. If you choose Mimo Balance, ensure you have sufficient funds in your balance before the scheduled payment date. Payments are processed early on the scheduled date, and for same-day payments, funds are typically transferred within minutes.

After selecting your payment method, press Schedule Payment and you’re all set!
