Steps to take if you think you’ve been scammed:

  • Contact Mimo Support immediately - share the payment details (amount, date, account info ((sort code, account number, IBAN, or reference) and why you think it’s fraud (e.g. supplier email looked suspicious, failed Confirmation of Payee, or details were suddenly changed)

  • Stop further payments - don’t send more money, even if asked. Fraudsters often try again once they know someone has paid once. Stop all further payments until we’ve investigated.

  • Gather evidence - save and share anything relevant, e.g., emails, messages, or invoices that requested the payment. Names, phone numbers, or addresses used, and screenshots of CoP results or system alerts.

  • Tell your bank- contact your bank immediately. They may be able to stop or recall the payment, especially if you act quickly.

  • Report to the authorities - e.g., If you’re in the UK, you should also report the incident to Action Fraud or call 0300 123 2040. For customers outside the UK, report to your local police or fraud authority.
