How do I edit Associate Preferences for a client?

You can update Associate Preferences directly in the app. Preferences control how Associate behaves for a specific client, including their financial year-end, bookkeeping cadence, and the accounts used for adjustments.

How to update Associate Preferences

  1. Go to Settings for the relevant client.

  2. Select Associate preferences.

  3. Update the relevant fields.

  4. Select Save changes.

Changes take effect for that client going forward.

What preferences can I change?

Associate Preferences has two sections. Under Client preferences you can set the financial year-end, bookkeeping cadence, VAT reporting cadence, and quarterly cycle. Under Adjustment accounts you can set the default prepayment account and accrual account used when posting journals.
