Whether you’re signing up to manage your own firm’s finances or supporting clients through Mimo, the platform is built to make payments and cash flow simple, collaborative, and efficient. Here’s everything you need to get started.
Sign up and create your practice
When signing up, select “I’m an accountant/bookkeeper”. You’ll then be prompted to either create a new practice for your firm or join an existing one. If your firm already uses Mimo, an admin will need to invite you.
Your practice account acts as your firm’s shared workspace in Mimo. From here, you can manage clients, invite team members, and track account activity across all client accounts you support.

Invite your team
Once your practice is set up, you’ll see two tabs in your dashboard: Clients and Team. To invite team members, go to the Team tab and click Invite member. You’ll be prompted to assign them a role—either Admin or Contributor—which controls their access within the practice account.
This access applies only to the practice account. Each team member can also be invited to specific client accounts, where their access can be managed separately. Once invited, your team member will receive an email with instructions to join.

Add clients
To add a client, go to the Clients tab and click Add new client in the top-right corner of the dashboard. You’ll start by entering the company name and details for a company director. Once that’s submitted, you can proceed with onboarding.
Each client goes through a short onboarding process, including KYB (Know Your Business) checks. Once submitted, you’ll be able to invite the client’s team to their Mimo account by going to Settings > Members. You can do this at any stage—either immediately after submitting the application or once the account is fully active.

Set up the first payment run
Once the client account is approved, you’re ready to get started with payments. Before setting up the first payment run, we recommend preparing the bank account. This includes enabling open banking transfers, adding Mimo as a beneficiary, and making a small initial transfer of £1. After that, complete the account mapping to enable automated reconciliation. The platform will guide you through each step to make sure everything is set up correctly.
Once that’s done, you’re all set to run the first payment!
