Importing prepayment schedules

Updated today

Import prepayment schedules

Bring your existing prepayment schedules into Mimo so you have a single source of truth instead of maintaining spreadsheets. Rather than starting from scratch, you can import your ongoing schedules and let Mimo manage the monthly releases and journal publishing to Xero.

How it works

1) Share an Excel version of your ongoing schedules

Export your ongoing prepayment schedules as an Excel file and share it with our team. We'll review the data and set everything up in Mimo for you. We're working on automating this process, so it'll be even easier soon.

2) Choose your start date

You can decide the date from which Mimo should start publishing journals for your imported schedules.

3) Schedules are ready to use

Once imported, your schedules appear in Mimo with full visibility. You can see opening balance, movements, and closing balance each month, and track all ongoing prepayments and their statuses. If synced to Xero, you can also see sync status and timing.

What schedules do

Schedules generate journal entries for initial recognition and monthly releases, which sync to Xero. Journals publish nightly, and you can also publish manually when needed. If auto-publishing is enabled, journals publish automatically based on your schedule. Xero lock periods are respected throughout.

Allocation options

Your schedules can use:

  • Straight-line monthly allocation

  • Automatic service period detection

  • Custom allocations for non-standard patterns

  • Rolling prepayments (start with a balance and decide releases later)

Limitations

Multi-line invoices where one invoice contains multiple schedules may require manual setup for some lines until full line-level support is available. Late invoices can also require manual adjustments to allocations in some cases.
